What to Expect
Regardless of skill level, prepare to learn. A coach will supervise your workout providing a properly scaled routine with safety in mind. The workout is intended to challenge you, but will be at your own pace, providing you with an opportunity to ask questions and understand how the exercises will benefit you. Warning folks… Although it may be difficult, you will probably have fun doing it! The CrossFit community is very supportive, right from the start. Don’t be surprised when people talk to you and possibly cheer you on during your first visit! You will see quickly how our community works and how you could be a part of it.
What to Bring
Wear comfortable workout clothing that allows for flexible movement. Many people bring a water bottle, but a water cooler is on premises if needed. The most important thing to bring is a high energy, positive attitude and a willingness to do your best.
What happens during an Intro Session?
It doesn’t matter to us what kind of shape you’re in…or what kind of shape you “think” you’re in. What matters is your desire for results and willingness to work. Show up. Step up. And we’ll get you set up to succeed.
Your first workout might include several sets of exercises such as squats, running, rowing, and/or basic barbell or dumbbell lifts. Other possible workouts might include push-ups, pull-ups, jumping, 400-meter runs, and/or more advanced and rapid free-weight drills. CrossFit constantly varies your mix of exercises, intensities, and repetitions to continue challenging your body and increasing your performance. Can’t do a pullup? No worries, your coach will “scale” or modify the exercise to fit your abilities so you can build up to doing that pullup. The scaling concept applies to any and all exercises.
Then what happens after my Intro Session?
After you complete your intro session you will go into On Ramp Classess to learn all the specific movements that CrossFit does
