Trainer & Olympic Rower
United States Olympic Rower Mike Gennaro began rowing in 2004 at St. Joseph’s Prep, where he was eventually elected as team co-captain as a senior (alongside fellow co-captain and future T1 hero Brad Adams).
That summer, Mike was selected as a member of the United States Junior National Team and competed in Beijing, China at the Junior World Championships.
Mike then received a full athletic scholarship to Syracuse University where he rowed for four years and was again elected as team captain his senior year. During the summers of 2009, 2010, and 2011, he rowed on the Under-23 United States National team, winning two silvers and a gold medal at the World Rowing Under-23 Championships. He also competed at the 2011 Pan America Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, winning gold medals in both the Men’s 8 and Men’s pair.
Most recently, Mike was an alternate for the 2012 United States Olympic Team in London, England. He currently trains full-time with the United States Men’s National Team based out of Princeton, New Jersey.
